Bresee Carlson Begins Adjunct Professorship at Western Colorado University

Bresee Carlson, Kuiper Law Firm’s Denver Partner, is gearing up to begin her adjunct professorship this spring at Western Colorado University in Gunnison, Colorado, where she will be teaching Oil & Gas Law. Ms. Carlson’s main objective is to provide students with a comprehensive study of oil and gas law and regulations by focusing on analysis of existing law and its application to practical issues. The course will focus on applicable governing laws and regulations, followed by the analysis and application of relevant judicial opinions, and finally, will follow the lifecycle of oil and gas development and the major legal issues encountered therein.

Jessica Laramie, Director of the Energy Management Program and Chair of the Landman’s Section for the Annual Institute for Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation, will concurrently teach the Oil & Gas Agreements course at Western, and both professors have structured their classes to work together to create a cohesive image of the lifecycle of oil and gas development. Ms. Carlson plans to bring the utility and pragmatism she employs while serving her clients to educating tomorrow’s industry professionals.

Since Ms. Carlson graduated from Sturm College of Law in Denver, CO, her practice has focused on land and title related oil and gas issues across the Rocky Mountain producing states. She sits on the board of Energy Strong, is actively engaged in the DAPL, WAPL, and RMMLF, and is enthusiastic about this opportunity to educate future young professionals in the industry.
