Kuiper Law Firm Opens Office in Oklahoma City

Kuiper Law Firm, PPLC is proud to announce the opening of our new office in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma!

This new location will be Kuiper Law Firm’s sixth office nationwide, joining existing offices in Houston, DFW, Denver, Lafayette, and Midland, and will allow us to better serve our clients in the OKC area and accommodate our growing practice.

Joining Kuiper Law Firm as attorneys in Oklahoma City are Laura Schwarz, Russell Oxford, and James Parker. They will be supported by law clerk Kianna Udenze. All three attorneys are Oklahoma City natives with years of seasoned experience across the oil and gas landscape. The Oklahoma City office will oversee our oil, gas and mineral law services in the state of Oklahoma including title examination, due diligence, and acquisitions.

ABOUT THE NEW ATTORNEYS

Laura Schwarz joins the firm as a Managing Associate in the OKC office. Throughout her nearly 20-year career, she has worked at several oil and gas companies in various roles, including as an in-house landman, director of asset management, and title attorney. Laura began her career as an in-house landman in Fort Worth before returning to Oklahoma City to continue her career while earning her J.D. from Oklahoma City University School of Law. She has prepared numerous title opinions and reviewed millions of acres of assets in Texas, Oklahoma, Wyoming, Arkansas, Louisiana, Pennsylvania, and provided regular support to business development, accounting, and legal departments through due diligence for sales and acquisitions, data management, audit inquiries and litigation.

Russell Oxford joins the firm as a Senior Associate in the OKC office. He regularly advises clients involved in the acquisition, development, and exploration of oil and gas properties, with an emphasis on title examination. Shortly after graduating from the University of Tulsa College of Law, Russell accepted an in-house title attorney position with Chesapeake Energy.  In the years since, he has served as in-house counsel and represented several public and privately-owned companies in a wide variety oil and gas matters.  Russell has authored hundreds of opinions including drilling and highly detailed division order title opinions; drafted various oil and gas agreements including purchase and sale agreements, oil and gas leases, assignments, and surface use agreements; worked on acquisition due diligence projects; reviewed and drafted real property and title curative documents; and provided legal representation in probate and estate administration matters and quiet title suits.

James Parker joins the firm as an Associate in the OKC office. James has over a decade of experience working in the oil and gas industry. After graduating with his B.A. from Oklahoma Christian University, James began his career working for several oil and gas companies in a variety of roles, then continued his career as an in-house landman while attending Oklahoma City University School of Law, where he earned his J.D. James has several years of experience working as a title attorney in Oklahoma City.  He has prepared numerous title opinions, analyzing mineral and leasehold interests on federal, fee, and state lands.

Kianna Udenze joins the firm as a Law Clerk in the OKC office. Kianna is an East Texas native and incoming 3rd year law student at the University of Oklahoma where she is pursuing her J.D. She is the Business Development Editor for the American Indian Law Review, President of the Sports and Entertainment Law Society, 3L Class Secretary, and Historian for the Ada Lois Sipuel Fisher Chapter of the Black Law Students Association. Prior to joining Kuiper Law Firm, she was a legal intern for the University of Oklahoma Athletic Compliance Office and Devon Energy.
